Mount Toubkal Ascent  2 Days

Toubkal is highest peak in North Africa in 2 or 3 days climbing. The tour starts and finishes in the vibrant city of Marrakech, and includes transport to and from Imlil . We will trek with a local English speaking guide , a local cook and mules to carry our luggage. It’s a challenging walk rather than a climb, and anybody in good physical condition can reach the top. Make sure you bring your camera; the views from the summit are spectacular. Mount Toubkal 4167m is the highest peak in North Africa, and is a trekking peak involving no climbing two days involve walking in crampons holding an ice axe for security (Nov to April ) . The itinerary has been designed for keen walkers, as the ascent is non-technical, but involves some easy scrambling and snow slopes.

DAY 1

Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil and to Mountain Refuge.

Woke early and refreshed, after breakfast we leave Marrakech in our own private transportation for a 1.5hr drive to Imlil the point of our departure trip. Here Trek to Imlil, crossing the valley floor and up onto the side of the valley, arriving at Sidi Chamharouch to 11’S, traditional Berber whiskey (mint tea). Refreshed, we continue up along a new hanging valley and after a couple of hours taking our first glimpse of our target, the Mountain Refuge Neltner to 3,207m. This is our « base camp » for the night. 5:00 trek.

DAY 2

Trek to The Summit of Jebel Toubkal & Return to Imlil and Marrakech.

Peak day! We take an early breakfast and leave on our « Summit Day ‘Jebel Toubkal 4 167m. It is not easy starting, we need to get on the steep side of the main valley, but taking enjoyable and easy, soil levels on a bit, and we continue our gradual ascent .. After about four hours we do it ! What feeling, and magnificent view !! After the celebrations due, photos, and a well earnt rest and picnic, we return to base camp and then trek down through Sidi Chamharouch Imlil Village. We continue by private vehicle to your hotel in Marrakech. 8 hours.

Mount Toubkal Ascent 2 day trek will give you the chance to enjoy panoramic views from Ait Mizain valley through the small villages of Imlil, then over the surroundings wild and colourful high mountains on the finishing way up to the summit. You will also enjoy lunch time breaks in the nature and tasting a variety of Moroccan Berber cuisine made by our experienced cook, freshly and safely cooked every day..
