DAY 1

Day Trek Fom Imlil – To Tizi Mzik

Trek up to the col of Tizi Mzik (2489m). Colours change from greys to reds and purples as the geology alters. You can rest at the pass and have a picnic lunch as well as some freshly squeezed orange juice from the small hut at the pass. Descend to the village of Aroumd (possible to stay the night in a house here) and return via the village of imlil. Picnic on route.

The return hike is down the same path with a deviation to discover the small villages on the opposite side of the valley to the start point.

  • Duration: 5 to 6 hours walking time.

It affords superb views of the valleys below and mountains and high passes either side.

imlil-trekking.com invites you to experience a different face of Morocco. Just 1,5 hours drive from Marrakech you enter another world, another time. Leaving behind hot and busy streets, crowded souks and hooting cars High Atlas Mountains greet you with breath taking views, green oases, rivers, waterfalls and shadows under age-old nut trees.  Laughing children pass by, muletiers load their donkeys and Berber women already put on fire for mint tea and Berber tajine.  .
