6 Days Trek in M'goun

Discover the summit of M’goun, the second highest peak of Morocco, as well as the valley of Ait Bouguemez, also known as Happy Valley. On the way to Ait Bouguemez, you will get to visit the famous waterfalls of Ouzoud. Enjoy the ride over mountains and along rivers. Instead of heading straight up direction summit of M’goun, you will have time to enjoy the peaceful traditional valley with its rich nature and welcoming people. While you visit famous sites such as the Grenier of Sidi Moussa, you get acclimatized to the altitude to be ready for the ascent of Jebel M’goun during the following days.

ITINERARY DETAILS :

Day 1: Marrakesh- Ouzoud waterfalls – Ait Bougmez Valley (Ait Bouguemez)

Transfer from Marrakesh to the Ait Bougmez valley , through Ouzoud-waterfalls ; the most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco. Continue to Azilal for lunch. Then Oughbar pass (2200m) with panoramic views of the M’goun mountains . Descend to the valley of Ait Abbas before joining with Agouti-the first village of the happy valley. We arrive at Timit, and we will have time to explore the village and get in touch with the Berber. 5 hours drive. Night In Guesthouse.

Day 2: Timit – The Sidi Moussa Marabout- Aguerd N’Ouzro- Tabant-Timit

We have a small climb to the attic and marabout of Sidi Moussa (a saint, renowned for the care of spiritual diseases). Magnificent views of the valley in three directions. After the descent to the village Tabant- the center of the valley (and the weekly market in Sunday ).We will have lunch under the big walnut trees near the Ait Imi village . Then we will discover the village Ageurd n’ Ouzrou with the magnificent architecture.Then return to Timit. 5 hours walking.

Day 3 : Timit – vilages :Tamatout- Ait Ziri- Arous- Timit

We go to the Tamalout village and Idoukalen located in the foot of collective attic of Sidi Chita. We cross fields (corn, wheat, apple, poplar, walnut). We will take the time to observe the daily work of the villagers in the fields and small grain mills. Dinner and overnight at Guesthouse in Timit village.4 H walking

Day 4 : Timit – Elhad -Ibakquelliwn -Ait Imi – Timit

After breakfast, we head to El Had- a small town; which is the economic heart of the Ait Bougmez valley . We reach Ibaqualliwn village for discover The dinosaur footprints. We go through a different path to reach the charming village of Ait Imi. Lunch in the shade of large walnut trees. Guesthouse. 4h5 walking.

Day 5 : Timit – Ansous valley – Ahabak – Ikhf n’Ighir- Timit

This circuit will allow us to discover the pastoral activity of the valley and to admire magnificent landscapes. We follow the valley to join Iskatafene village and Ansous. Then we begin the ascent to the pass that allows us to reach Ahabak valley. Lunch in the shade. Back to our Guesthouse. 5 hours walking..

Day 6 : Timit – Azilal- Marakech

We leave the Happy Valley by minibus to Azilal and then back to Marrakesh. Lunch en route. Afternoon free to walk in the souks. Hotel in Marrakesh
