Through the Land of Nomads: Southern Morocco Tour __ Sand Dunes

Day 1 (Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou kasbah – Ouarzazate – Boumalne Dades)
Early departure from Marrakech. The journey will take you to the Dades valley via Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass, crossing the high Atlas Mountains, Berber Villages, Kasbahs, Ouarzazate, Skoura, and El kalaat Megouna. There are photos' stops, relaxing breaks for lunch and coffee. Visits include Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. Dinner & Overnight stay in a hotel in Boumalne Dades gorge.
Day 2: (Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert)
After breakfast, travel towards Merzouga desert via Tinghir visiting Todra gorge, Tinejdad, Erfoud, and Rissani. Once reaching Merzouga dunes of Erg Chaabi, camels are waiting for your 1h30 trek to your overnight desert camp. Dinner, campfire, and an opportunity to listen to traditional desert tunes, free time, overnight stay in your Berber tent.
Day 3: Endjoy a day and night in Merzouga desert in a kasbah hotel next to the sand dunes.
An early wake up for sunrise is recommended. After breakfast, Camel ride will take you back from the camp crossing the sand dunes to your hotel in Merzouga desert. An air conditioning Private room with shower. Free time, swimming pool, an many optional activities as sand-boarding, quad biking, trekking in the sand dunes, or even make a 4/4 excursion visiting the desert, Saharian villages, oasis, local nomadic families, mines,... Etc. Dinner and overnight stay in your accommodation in Merzouga.
Day 4: (Merzouga Desert - Ouarzazate)
After breakfast, drive to Ouarzazate. Drop off at your hotel in Ouarzazate for the overnight stay ( air-conditioning private room with shower) including dinner & breakfast.
Day 5: (Ouarzazate - Marrakech)
After breakfast, half day free time in Ouarzazate the city of cinema. Many places to see, from Kasbahs, markets, museums, cinema studios, river, old districts of Taourirt Kasbah ..Ect. In the afternoon, we will pick you up from the hotel and drive to Marrakech.

day walks and explore the berber villages prior to travel over the Atlas Mountain on the following days to get to Dades gorges for 1st stop, carry on to Merzouga where you will have a camel ride and overnight on the nomadic campin the dunes then drive back through the stony desert “ Tazarine” via Ourzazate and into Marrakech.
Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil/ High Atlas Mountains (1740m)– Tizi Mzik (2684m)-Tamsoulte waterfalls (2300m) Tizi Oussem village (1850m).
After breakfast in Marrakech, pick up & drive towards the high Atlas Mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya & Asni, enjoy the stunning view of the villages along the valet. Arrival to Imlil (65km from Marrakech), meet the guide & multeer andthen start the trek & climb Tizi Mzik pass (2684m), spectacular view over Imlil valley & Toubkal Summit, continue to Tamsoulte to visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains (100m of hight), down the Azzaden valley through juniper forest to get to Tizi Oussem village. Overnight at the Guest house in the village. 5hrs walking.
Day 2: Tizi Oussem (1850m) – Id Issa village (1800m) – Tizi Oudid (2000m) – Mattat – Imlil Armed Village
After breakfast, enjoy the sunshine on this colorful valley& its marvelous typical Berber villages, leave Tizi Oussem & continue down to Id Issa village, before heading up to Tizi Oudid mountain pass (2000m), cross matat village after a wild thurifer juniper forest, get lunch under walnut groves and relax near the river. On the afternoon short trek up the valley to Imlil. overnight in Dar Imperial or similar
Day 3: Aremd Village – Dades Gorges – Casbah ait Ben – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley
After breakfast in Aremd we drive to the south, crossing High Atlas Mountains at an altitude of 2260 m (Tizi n´Tichka pass). On the way we pass through many Berber villages, makingh several stops to make pictures, enjoy the spectacular views and explain about the area. Once in the desert we see many riverside oases and Kasbahs. Around lunch time we arrive in Casbah ait Ben and eat our lunch there. One hour after we arrive to Ouarrzazate, the famous “cinema” city where movies like Lawrence from Arabia or James Bond were filmed. Depending if you are film fans or not we could visit the film studio. After we drive to the “Valley of the Roses”, we take a walking break there to admire the beautiful views over the Dades valley. After we drive to our hotel in Dades Gorge.
Day 4: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert
We start from Dades Gorges and continue towards Merzouga. We make a short stop at Todgha Gorge and then drive to the dunes of Merzouga with lunch on the way. A camel ride will be organized around 4 p.m in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We spend the night in the traditional Berber camp, observing sunset and enjoying a delicious traditional dinner.
Day 5: Merzouga – Ourzazate - Ouzoud
Today we need to get up early, our camels wait already and we ride again into the desert to observe the sunrise. Returning to the camp we have breakfast and then take an alternative route through Draa Valley to Ourzazate. We eat our lunch in Ouarzazate and start our trip towards Ouzoud. We arrive late in the evening and accommodate ourselves in a local guest house.
Day 6: Ouzoud – Watterfall Ouzoud – Marrakech
After breakfast, we walk to the waterfall don´t forget your swimming suit if you like to swim. We spend some time around the waterfall, eat our lunch and drive back to Marrakech. We say our goodbyes in Marrakech.

I went on this tour with my friend. The taxi driver picked us up at our riad, which was very nice. The driver, Jamal, was funny and gave us some moments to make pictures. Our tour guide, also Jamal , was very sweet and kind. For us the whole experience was unforgettable. Lovely people with very rich hearts!
Perfect day trip, best food, waterfall, scenery and most of all GREAT value for money! My only nag was the car we we travelled to and from was not clean and long crack on windscreen!
It has been an amazing experience in Imlil. Left Marrakech to visit Imlil Village, our guide, his name is Hocaine is the famous and friendly tourist guide we've met.. every body knows him..he's from this small Berber village who lead us up the mountain where we had a delicious Moroccan traditional lunch. Thanks to those people we met for making this trekking extra special. You guys rock!! The whole experience was absolutely awesome!.
An amazing day with breathtaking sights and unforgettable experiences. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide that went the extra mile for us to construct a bridge from stone when the path was flooded from rain the night before.
