For three days we will walk in the Toubkal National Park and then finally ascend the “Mountain of all Mountains” – that´s how local Berber people call Jebel Toubkal, with its summit at 4167m, making it the highest peak not only in Morocco but the whole North Africa. Elation and pride is waiting for us when we reach the summit on the third day as is the view of the clouds and birds flying deep below our feet. On the previous days our trip leads us through fruit filled valleys, visiting traditional Berber villages and enjoying quiet moments in the nut tree oases and beside the river banks.
You will be accompanied by a licensed and experienced guide who climbed the Toubkal for the first time when he was six! The tour is technically not difficult and you don´t need to have any previous mountaineering experience, but you should be a little bit fit and used to walking off-road. Good trekking shoes and a wind anorak are highly recommended in any season of the year.
We will spent the nights in the simple but atmospheric mountain refugees where we will meet other travellers and enjoy the well-known hospitality and delicious cookery of Berber people.

Equipment
Most of those equipment can be rented locally from equipment shop in atlas:
Wake up early for the drive through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains to Imlil, where you'll meet your support crew and start your trek. Gradually ascend the Toubkal Valley, pass Berber farming villages and stop for lunch on the trail.
In the afternoon you’ll arrive at the refuge. Settle in, meet other hikers and refuel with a well-earned dinner cooked by your support crew. Wrap up warm, get in your sleeping bag and head to bed looking forward to the high altitude days ahead.
After an early breakfast, you make your attempt on the summit of Jebel Toukbal 4167m, the highest peak in Northern Africa. your route takes you up the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge and then heading across one of the mountains numerous scree fields, where you will have to negotiable a seemingly endless carpet of boulders and rocks. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the scree and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts, however, the views along the way make the journey more than worthwhile. Cresting the ridgeline you find yourselves on the plateau, from where it is a short walk to the summit and the vistas out across the surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. From here there are unrestricted views in every direction, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. Pliny, the great Roman scholar, once described the High Atlas Mountains as "the most fabulous mountains in all of Africa" and from your vantage point high above the valley it is easy to understand why. Retracing your steps you then return down the mountain to the basecamp where you will have lunch, Once you get there, there’s just about enough time to scope the view from the top, give yourself a pat on the back, before escaping the whipping wind and beginning the long descent back down to Imlil. Approx. 9 hours of trekking,
Today, you will walk back down to Imlil via the nother route. Once you get to Imlil, you will have a stop for lunch at a berber restaurant, Say farewell to the Atlas Mountains and drive back to your riad in Marrakech. The night is then yours to find a restaurant for couscous or a tasty tajine to celebrate, before collapsing into bed.
I went on this tour with my friend. The taxi driver picked us up at our riad, which was very nice. The driver, Jamal, was funny and gave us some moments to make pictures. Our tour guide, also Jamal , was very sweet and kind. For us the whole experience was unforgettable. Lovely people with very rich hearts!
