Walking and hiking in Berber Villages in The High Atlas Mountains

Marrakech to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco on a trek through the beautiful Imenane Valley is a true Berber Valleys adventure in 2 unforgettable days. Trek from Marrakech city and go deep into tiny hamlets and villages of the ethnic Berber, a herding and farming community. Visit their homes and interact with a glimpse of their day to day living.

DAY 1

Marrakech – Oukaimeden (the Ski Resort) – Tacheddirt (2300m)

In the Morning you will meet your Mountain Guide at the hotel in Marrakech with the driver, and begin your journey heading out of the Red City towards Oukaimeden one of the premier skiing resorts on the African continent, from here you will start your hiking up to Tizi N’Addi pass (2900m), meeting with the Berber Nomads on your way, and a place rarely frequented by tourists. Then you take a break for having a snack, and enjoy the spectacular view of the mountain peaks and Imnane valley, From here you continue heading downhill to Tacheddirt village the highest Berber village in High Atlas, stay for the overnight in local traditional guest house in (HB).

DAY 2

Tacheddirt – Tizi N’Tamatert (2280m) – Imlil (1740m)

After breakfast, leave Tacheddirt village and descent to Imnane valley passing through several Berber villages in rout, meet local people, taste a cup of mint tea with them and experience their style of life. Continue walking through the winding footpath up to Tizi N’Tamatert pass (2280m); stop for lunch and enjoy the panorama of Toubkal and Ouanoukrim mountains, and green valleys of Ait Mizane and Imnane. After your meal finally you head to Imlil village where the hike ends, meet your driver and then return to Marrakech.
