Marrakech to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco on a trek through the Toubkal valley, seeing some of Morocco’s most beautiful nature. Admire breathtaking panoramic views and experience the local culture first-hand as you pass by tiny hamlets and villages of the ethnic Berber, a herding and farming community.

Enjoy a 2 days trek around Berber villages in the High Atlas Mountains from Marrakech. You will explore the area and its beautiful Berber villages, and meet local people.

Equipment / Kit Hire

  • Good walking boots and socks / good trainers for valley treks
  • Personnel First aid Kit
  • 3 to 4 season sleeping bag ( winter) or light Sleeping bag ( Summer)
  • Lightweight waterproof over-trousers / rain-pants
  • Water bottle or camel back (recommended)
  • Soft-sided bag (50-80 litres)

DAY 1

Marrakech – Imlil – Armed via Tidli

Morning:08:30 AM: Private transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (approx. 1.5 hours)10:00 AM: Arrival in Imlil, meet your guide, and start the trek.11:00 AM: Trek from Imlil to Tidli, passing through beautiful landscapes and traditional Berber villages.1:40 PM: Picnic lunch en route, provided by your trekking team.Afternoon:01:30 PM: Continue the trek to Armed, the highest village in the Imlil Valley.04:00 PM: Arrival in Armed. Check-in at a local guesthouse.Evening: Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at the guesthouse.Overnight: Accommodation in Armed.

DAY 2

Armed – Tizi Mzik – Imlil – Marrakech

After Breakfast at the guesthouse.08:30 AM: Start the trek from Armed to Tizi Mzik, a high mountain pass offering stunning views of the surrounding valleys.11:30 AM: Descend towards Imlil.Afternoon:12:30 PM: Lunch in Imlil at a local restaurant.02:00 PM: Free time to explore Imlil or relax.Evening:03:00 PM: Private transfer back to Marrakech.04:30 PM: Arrival in Marrakech.

imlil-trekking.com invites you to experience a different face of Morocco. Just 1,5 hours drive from Marrakech you enter another world, another time. Leaving behind hot and busy streets, crowded souks and hooting cars High Atlas Mountains greet you with breath taking views, green oases, rivers, waterfalls and shadows under age-old nut trees.  Laughing children pass by, muletiers load their donkeys and Berber women already put on fire for mint tea and Berber tajine.  .

  • Beautiful scenery and nice guide. We were picked up in Marrakech exactly at the agreed time and were driven to Imlil by a good driver and your car. We were met by the guide and went for a short daytrip of about 4 hours and lunch home at the guide. Good Moroccan food.
